So the last few weekends I have been quiet busy, between shopping, getting my hair done, reorgansing my bedroom, and other things. Its finally Easter weekend and I get to relax.
I haven't had my RDO for March yet, because I had nothing I wanted to use it for. But I was getting a bit burnt out. Mostly because I have been overloaded lately, so while it was quiet this week it was nice for a change.
Yesterday Mum and I went to see OZ at the movies. It was okay, very pretty, but messed with my head on the whole Land of OZ mythology. Between Wicked, The Wizard of Oz, Return to Oz and now OZ - I'm really confused!
Also being Good Friday it was pretty quiet out and about, with shops being closed. However 1 family decided to bring their 2 toddlers to the movie (which is NOT a kids movie) and let them make noise and run around the cinema. Not only did they do that, but the let them do it over and over again. I was ready to kill them!
Last night I went to Ness' we watched the usual Friday night tv and then some LOST. We didn't do anymore trip planning. But last week we booked inter-island flights and the hotels.
However this week we found out Kristin Chenoweth is going to be touring here in June...and its pretty much in the middle of our trip. Which really really really really bites. I mean I waited 2 years, and we waited to book stuff, but it wasn't long enough. I'm very depressed, but I figure...since the universe is making me miss this...I am due to get something else along the line. Balance and whatnot.
-I mean I used to be lucky with this kind of stuff!
Anyways...not much else planned for the weekend, just watching movies and then Jacinta and I are going walking tomorrow.
Its nice to have a quiet weekend.

Adventure
So much has happened, since I've been too busy to blog....
So after the little Sydney trip, there was the bigger US trip at the end of October. It was a lot of fun going as a foursome. Course we didn't sleep much (I didn't at all) on the plane, and then had to stay up all day once we got there...cause it was 7something in the morning in LA. We dumped our bags and went over to the Farmers Market for some much needed Starbucks. Once we were able to check in at our hotel, Nick, Ness and I walked a few blocks over to the Beverley Center for some shopping. We had dinner at the Cheesecake factory and by the time we got to dessert my head was starting to spin, and it was time for bed.
The 2nd day was the VIP Warner Bros tour - which was amazingly awesome, followed by a taping of Mike and Molly! 3rd Day was the Paramount Tour, which was rather lackluster....and was missing the wow factor that WB had.
Then the 4th day we went to the Tar Pits, and Sprinkles cup cake bakery -with the ATM before an overnight flight to NYC!
We arrived very early in the morning, after a bit of sleep. It was FREEZING in NYC! Beautiful and sunny, but cold. It was too early to check in and too early to shop, so we went in search of breakfast. Then went shopping. After checking in at noon, we unpacked and had a short nap, before getting ready for dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner (a must do for any New York trip). Then it was off to Annie. Annie was great, Katie Finneran was fantastic, and Anthony Warlow was good again too. The girl that played Annie, and the other orphans were all pretty great too. It was nice to see it done with professional Broadway kids for a change. We went to the stage door, and as luck would have it the whole cast had had flu shots and only Katie Finneran was coming out. -Which was okay by us, cause she was who we were waiting for! She was really lovely...it was nice to see her again. -New rule is that she must be on stage every time I come to New York, as she has been both times.
Sunday was hanging out with Kay and Nick, Lunch at the Olive Garden and then off to Avenue Q in the arvo, dinner at Maccas, and Book of Mormon that night. Book of Mormon was AWESOME. I only knew the soundtrack, none of the extra stuff, so that was really fun.
Monday Ness and I walked up 5th Avenue and went to FAO Schwartz and by The Plaza Hotel. Then back down to Grand Central station and around Bryant Park. In the evening it was off to see Nice Work if you can get it, which was amazing and HILARIOUS! Matthew Broderick and Kelli O'Hara and Jennifer Laura Thompson were all amazing, and it was great to get to meet them at the stage door after the show. - We also saw Krysta Rodriguez from Addams Family at the stage door - which I thought was cool.
Tuesday Ness and I walked down 14 blocks to The Highline park. It was really cool, and had nice views out towards New Jersey. In the evening it was off to Newsies. We had front row seats in the balcony, which were really close to the stage, so we had a great view. I LOVED the show, the cast was awesome. The guy next to me clearly wasn't into it though, he never applauded - which I found extra rude cause we were so close!
Wednesday Kay and Nick left really early...and boy were we tired, cause we didn't hear them leave at all.
In the morning it was shopping, and then off to see Once in the arvo. It was a good show, but not one I'd have to see over and over. So then came the most exciting part, we left the theatre and it was snowing! We were giddy as school girls walking around in the snow, taking pictures...and letting it fall on our hats, and coats. After dinner we came out to a bit of a blizzard. It was extra cold, and extra wet snow and slippery to walk and the wind was terrible. Walking a few blocks up to Wicked, was not fun at all. We walked very very slow. Wicked was great, but the theatre was freezing! The girl playing Glinda this time was great! I stocked up on plenty of merchandise to make up for 2 years without any Wicked.
Thursday was our last day in New York. We spent the morning sleeping in, then went shopping. I bought plenty of t-shirts. We went up to Rockerfeller to go to the NBC store, but it was still closed because of the election stuff. So that was disappointing. After that it was more shopping and walking around. We went up to Applebee's for dinner, the other one to the one we went to last time that wasn't great. This one was great. The food was amazing, and I ate too too too much. Then it was up the street to Studio 54 to see The Mystery of Edwin Drood. It was sooo much fun! Stephanie J Block was amazing, even though she was playing a woman playing a man. Will Chase was great too! They all were, not a weak link in the bunch. It was funny and crazy and the best part was that its interactive! Once the story runs out you get to vote for the murderer and the couple. Its unlike anything else I've seen. There weren't many people at the stage door, which worked out in our favor. Stephanie was lovely, and talked to us about Australia, and the snow...we may have squealed a little bit about the snow. Will Chase (of Smash) is crazy, but nice!!
Friday morning we were up early, after a few hours sleep, and it was off to the airport. Our plane was delayed slightly, but we made it to LA and then down to Anaheim. After settleing in, we walked around to Disney California Adventure. We looked around and got some lunch, then lined up to go on the new Cars ride. 2 hours later we were on the ride. The we walked around and went on the Ferris Wheel and the Little Mermaid ride....twice. Then we met up with Kay and Nick for dinner. It was nice. Then we watched the World of Color show. It was soooo pretty. I bought the ears that light up with the show, and wore them proudly, even if hardly anyone else was.
Saturday morning we were up early and off to Disneyland. We got breakfast, did Space Mountain, and then roamed around and did plenty more ride throughout the day. There was some shopping, before going out for dinner with Kay and Nick at Fire and Ice at Gardenwalk. Then it was back to Disneyland to see the fireworks...that ended up being cancelled cause of hte wind. So we went on the Astro Blasters and took some pictures and shopped before heading home to bed and to pack. Sunday we checked out and went to breakfast at IHOP. We had terrible service. Then it was shopping at Downtown Disney (or Downton Disney as we were calling it). Then it was back into Disneyland on the monorail and then over to DCA for shopping and to see the Aladdin Musical. It was interresting, not Broadway standard, but still fun. Then it was back to the hotel, to repack and then it was off to the airport.
At the airport we changed into our comfy trackies and then it was back on the plane and before we know it we were home again.
I had the rest of the week off, and enjoyed relaxing. But I can't wait to go away again.

Legally Blonde
OMG OMG you guys!
So last week I got to see 3 shows in 4 days and it was tons of fun. Wednesday I saw Promises Promises at the State Theatre at the Arts Centre....it was okay, but not much to write home about. Especially as Ness and I saw it 3 times on Broadway with Kristin Chenoweth, Sean Hayes, Katie Finneran and Tony Goldwyn. This one did not really compare. Marina Prior was okay, but it seemed weird. The guy that played Chuck was not great. He was doing okay, then forgot the words and messed up the last song a little bit....which I noticed, but perhaps people that hadn't seen the show didnt.
Then Friday it was off to Sydney for Legally Blonde weekend. After a little delay in actually getting to Sydney, Ness, Kay, Nick, Vicky and I headed off to the Lyric Theatre in Pyrmont to finally see Lucy Durack in Legally Blonde the musical. Our seats were fantastic, I think we were about 5th row, just off centre. The show started okay, then technical issues popped up and they even had to stop the show for about 10-15 minutes...it was hilarious...our very own disaster show! Then the show started up again with all the Delta Nu girls (skipping part of the song....) and to make things worse the poor little Chihuha dog played Bruiser wasn't cooperating and started running away, Renee Burleigh who plays Margot did a great job of catching him and improvising that part where she talks 'bruiser'.
Intermission they put down the fire curtain, again for technical dificulties....
Lucy was amazing as Elle...I knew she would be. But there were so many little things she did that I loved...but were very Glinda from Wicked...which I guess might have been more Lucy than Glinda in Wicked. Rob Mills (which did not help with the Wicked connection) was great as Warner. David Harris (who I only knew a little as playing Fiyero in Wicked post Rob Mills) was a great Emmett- adorable, funny and talented. Helen Dallimore who plays Paulette was fantastic...surprise surprise ANOTHER Wicked alumn, but she was Glinda in London. Also from Wicked...Zoe who played Elphaba when I saw Wicked in Sydney the first time.
After the show Ness, Vicky and I rushed to the stage door...and had it all to ourselves for a few minutes. We had prime positioning and got to meet everyone (I missed a few people but thats okay, I met the main ones, and there is always next time.). Everyone was really nice and happy to have a quick chat and sign our programs. Lucy came out almost last (which is why I missed Renee, she came out while I was talking to Lucy and zoomed past me. But still, I was talking to Lucy so I couldn't be happier. Lucy was very nice and happy to sign my program, and her CD for me. And then after signing a few other peoples programs took a photo with me.
Ness and I were pretty hyper after that...
Saturday Vicky and I had breakfast down at Harbourside, and then walked around a bit in the drizzle...before heading back to our hotel to change for another dose of Legally Blonde. Ness and I headed back over to the Lyric theatre at the Star Casino, and perused the merchandise stand - which in my opinion was lacking a little, I was disappointed in their selection...needed less kid stuff and better t-shirts!
After settling on a mug, magnet and dog bone tag/keyring, we bought OH MY Cosmopolitan cocktails...another plastic glass to add the collection. Then we headed in. We had seats on the end of the aisle further back and to the far right of where we were sitting the night before. So we had a different perspective which was good. -it included a view of David Harris in his underwear during Take It Like A Man.
Luckily this show went off without a hitch. No more technically difficulties. There were quite a few more kids in the audience of this show, but it was matinee. Overall a great show, a second viewing allowed us to take in more, and pick up on a few extra quirky bits.
After the show, we skipped the stage door - as we had pretty much conquered it the night before!
We headed back to the hotel for a debrief and a chance to change out of my dress.
For dinner all five of us headed to the Hard Rock Cafe, we got Long Island Ice teas while we waited for our table to be ready. -they pack a wallop I tell you!
We had a good table on the window, which had a great view of the harbour. The table was a bit squishy with all our drinks, meals and side dishes, but it was fine. I ordered a pomegranate martini with dinner - a classic fave of mine. We waited for the fireworks which were supposed to start at 8:30pm, but didn't end up starting till 9pm. -Ness and I shared a dessert to allow us to wait longer.
Sunday there was no time for sleeping in as we had to be up and out of the hotel by 10am. Vicky, Ness and I had breaky down at a cafe at harborside. Nick met up with us (he and Kay were staying till Monday) for a bit and then we had to head off to the airport. -for stupid international check in.
Once we checked in, we sat around a while in the food court....I was exhausted and not feeling great. After a bit of nibble on some food, we headed through customs and sat around in the shopping area, before finally boarding to go home. The plane was fine, and soon enough we were home again.
Melbourne was freezing, which was mean after a lovely morning in Sydney.
It was a great weekend, and I can't wait to see the show again...it better keep going and come to Melbourne so I can see it a million times more!

Musical Weekends
Been so busy lately, there has been no time for blogging!
Thursday night I went to see the new production of Annie with Mum and Vanessa. I saw it years ago when they did it with Anthony Warlow and Amanda Muggleton. This time Anthony was back as Daddy Warbucks, with Nancye Hayes as Miss Hannigan.
It was a good show. The little girls were cute. The girl that played Annie was good, but you could tell she was nervous and not a pro, but that might change with time.
The funniest thing of the night was that Bert and Patty Newton sat down right in front of us....I couldn't stop laughing at the irony...Wicked's theatre, with the guy we hate in it...but the people lining up for pics and stuff was cute - lots of little girls.
Sunday I was back in the city -after a long detour due to traffic and road blocks- to see Moonshadow the Cat Stevens musical with Ness. It was very pretty, the music was pretty good and the cast was great! Marnie from Hairspray, Rodney from Wicked, and Blake who won the rob guest endowment last year were all fantastic! But I'm still not sure if I actually liked it or not...the story was lacking something. But I definitely didn't hate it.
It was still previews, so maybe they will make some changes for the good.
Not sure if I'll see it again...time will tell.
Looking forward to the many musicals coming up in the months ahead!

A Girl Without an Obsession
So it dawned on me recently, that for the first time in a good while I am without an obsession, which is very strange for me since I've almost always had one. Even as a small child the obsessions were there.
I'm feeling very lost. Without an obsession to drive my life, what is there?
As a young child there was The Carebears, Barbies, Cabbage Patch Dolls etc, and of course the big one - The Baby Sitters Club books. That one took over most of primary school for me. I read the books over and over, had merchandise and even planned a special exhibition, which naturally never amounted to anything other than a few papers filled with crazy ideas.
Then there were a few small ones when I started high school, then came along Charmed. A show I really liked became my new obsession after hanging out with my cousins Jade & Caitlin. We started taping it, and would watch it and eat Oreos and drink Sprite...it was a thing for us. I remember talking to Jade on the phone for an hour when we found put Andy died in an upcoming ep!
I had posters, trading cards, bears and even a few spell books!
Then as a result of losing all my videos and pics, plus the fact they killed of Prue, I moved on to Buffy & Angel. That lasted the rest of high school. I had trading cards, books and whatever I could get my hands on. It also lead to meeting some of my best friends, through a few online forums related to the Whedonverse. I went to my 1st & only convention, met Joss, and saw Serenity at the movies 7 times before it even opened officially!
Can't really remember when I let go if Buffy & Angel...I think when Angel ended and I decided to pick back up with Alias, Gilmore Girls, and then Grey's Anatomy. I did the multi obsession thing for a while, as along came Private Practice.
Then in 2008 along came Pushing Daisies and Wicked...and the rest is kind of history!
I got into Pushing Daisies the week before I saw Wicked for the first time. I got the soundtrack and listened to selected songs for that week before. I had always known Wicked was coming and knew I would love it. I had been waiting years for it to finally get to Australia. But that week of Kristin greatness was too much, I spent the next year seeing Wicked over and over, and watching the 1st season of Pushing Daisies over and over.... and watching any Kristin interview/material I could get my hands on. I must also put in my Idina obsession in there too...but I was actually more into Idina before Wicked, because of RENT.
So Wicked started off a whole Broadway obsession, seeing almost everything that came to Melbourne. But at the same time I was devoting myself to all things Wicked/Kristin Chenoweth/Idina Menzel....Vanessa and I discovered (finally) The West Wing. And that took over my life at the same time. I have lost count of how many times I have watched a select few GOLDEN episodes. I made my very first proper fan vid, played drinking games, learned about American government...and got to see more stuff with Kristin Chenoweth!
When I wasn't thinking about all things West Wing, it was all Wicked, or Pushing Daisies, or Kristin...I am surprised I actually found time to finish my university degree with all that in my head!
Then Wicked left Melbourne, and we finished the West Wing, I finished Uni, and I had a little more time to devote myself to new things. That's when I found Glee....a little show I was only watching for Kristin, and a love of musical things....turned out to be fantastic! I was hooked and those first few eps blew me away. It was smart, funny and made my heart sing every week....then they brought in Idina and that rocked my world all over again.....bought the music and watched the performances over and over....till it lost it after the 1st season....but I guess nothing can stay great forever.
In 2010 I also had my big US trip to obsess over. I got to actually MEET Kristin, in New York, and see her on Broadway! It really doesn't get any better than that! Oh yeah it does...I got to go to Idina's concert in Long Island as well! I loved almost every minute of that trip. But it was over before I knew it!
Last year I was obsessed with Private Practice. Season 4 was SOOOO good! I finally had time to obsess over it. Finally getting all the dvds helped too! But sadly this season started out promising, but has failed to live up to the standard of the 1st 4 years. Its in the 5 year slump that Grey's Anatomy fell into. I haven't lost hope yet, but I don't look forward to it and don't don't enjoy it quite as much as I did last year.
And that leads me here, to a place with no obsession. Nothing to take up all my thoughts and free time. Maybe its because I've been working full time since the start of August without any holidays. Maybe its because I don't really have a lot of free time spare, I spend it all watching things just to fit them in. Even the new shows this season haven't really captured my heart. I mean I really enjoy Pan Am, but I won't die if it doesn't come back next season. The same for Once Upon a Time, Up All Night and Unforgettable. I like them, but I'm not watching interviews or rewatching the eps.
Smash is perhaps the closest to an obsession. But I don't feel obsessed! I LOVE it, and have bought a few songs, and watched some eps over again....but wonder if I haven't let myself get attached, after the whole Glee situation. I don't let my hopes get high anymore. Maybe if I had more time, I'd have the energy to live and breath SMASH, but I just don't feel it. I love it, but I don't love it to death!
Maybe something will spark that feeling again soon, and I hope that it does. But right now I'm feeling very lost. I do not have a focus, something to get worked up over. Its been quite hard for me to feel really excited about anything lately. When did I become downer?
Either way, it is very strange after all these years to not be so focused on one thing. Maybe its part of growing up - I sincerely hope not, because if it is, I don't want it!
Maybe when I finally get that holiday/break that I want, it will refresh my brain and let my go crazy for something again. Until then, I will continue to sorta really really like stuff.

Rob Guest Endowment Concert 2011
Last night the newly returned Ness and I went to see this years Rob Guest Endowment concert at Her Majesty's Theatre in the city. I did a quick after work dinner/change/drive into the city and met Ness before the show.
Funnily enough since I was hanging out with her on Sunday, I spent more time with her, than I did at home in last 2 days.
The new kids were awesome and and some of our theatre faves were there to give AWESOME performances. I'd really missed Lucy Durack!!!!!
I had 3 faves to win, but then the other girl Ashlea Pyke knocked Don't Rain on My Parade out of the park! I really liked the guy who won - Blake Bowden. He did two great songs. Overall there were SO many good songs. Oh and we had the best seats! 3rd row on the aisle just to the right - right in front of the podium. So we got to be right in front of ALL the action! They gave us goodie bags with water and malteasers too!
The live action was a lot of fun. I would have LOVED to have Lucy's Glinda wand from Wicked....but unfortunately I didn't have a spare $3000. Everyone got so excited when it got over 2 grand.... and these 2 just kept pushing it higher! It was a long night - didn't get home till 11:30pm. But it was totally worth it. Got to see some great performances by my theatre faves - Lucy Durack, Francine Cain, Esther Hannaford, Rob Mills, and the cast of Rock of Ages...sans a few of the guys. But I was glad Samantha Hagen got to do some belting, as did Lincoln Hall!
Its totally a tradition, I'll keep going every year now!

A Little Bit of Theatre
So I was kept quite entertained last week, caught up with Ness a few times, and Jacinta as well!
Sunday night I finally saw the last Harry Potter film. It was really good! But then again, I don't really remember much from the book as its been years since I read it, so my opinion may change if I get around to re-reading the books...which I would like to do...but I'll have to complete my collection, I only have the last 3.
We went to Century City at the Glen. It was still really busy, I'm glad I decided to book online in the end. It just meant I could pick decent seats. Which at 18 bucks a movie these days, you want a good seat! I can't believe it costs almost 20 bucks for a regular no frills 2D movie!
Tuesday I had another appointment at Centrelink, all that is going along pretty well. But I still haven't had any job interviews. In the evening I went down to Ness' and we watched some quality Bones. We have become addicted to the Oreo choc shakes from Maccas, but when we went out to get some they didn't have any chocolate, so we had to have vanilla ones. They were nice, but not quite the same.
Wednesday, Jacinta came over and we watched some old SNL and odd tv here and there. That night I went to the arts centre to see Anything Goes with Amanda Harrison of Wicked. I had become obsessed with this show after seeing it at the Tonys. Then when reading the paper on Monday, I came across an article about Amanda doing it THIS WEEK ONLY at the arts centre. So I knew I HAD to go, and Mum was in too. Since Ness was working every other day 'cept Wednesday, that made the decision about which night to go easy. The tickets were pretty cheap which was good, and even though we were 3 rows from the back we still had a great view of the stage...and the seats in front of us were empty which was awesome!
The show was a lot of fun, Amanda was awesome as Reno. The rest of the cast were pretty talented too! The girl that played Erma was great, and Billy and Moonface Martin was great too! Overall it was a limited budget production, so there were not really proper sets or multiple costumes, but in terms of production value it still was really top notch when it came to the performances. There wasn't quite as much tapping as I would have liked, but you can't have everything!
Now I'll just have to wait for the Broadway production's cast recording to come out, so I can listen to the songs whenever I want!

Tony Awards 2011 Wrap Up
So its that time of year again, Tony Awards. Last year was a lot more interesting to watch, because I knew I was going to NY in Sept/Oct and was shopping for shows I wanted to see. But of course I still loved seeing what Broadway was doing this year, but just really mad that I’m not going to get to see any of it!
Neil Patrick Harris was host again. He IS a great host. He’s funny, adorable, and can get away with some jokes because of it. This was his 2nd time hosting the Tony’s. Last year was done wonderfully, but in a very different style by Sean Hayes. I loved his little songs, and I loved the dance number with Hugh Jackman...as much as I hate Hugh Jackman, it was funny and cute!
As for the awards themselves, nobody I loved was nominated. Book of Morman took most of the awards. Norbert Leo Butz from Wicked won for Catch Me If You Can –(which looked really good), so I was glad about that! The brother (John Benjamin Hickey) from The Big C won too, which was nice.
Even the presenters were not that exciting, with one major exception - Joel Grey was adorable, I love him, I mean how can you not! –I really wish I was seeing Anything Goes, which he’s in right now. A couple of other people I like presented, like -Vanessa Redgrave, James Earl Jones, Jim Parsons, Angela Lansbury, Alec Baldwin etc were all good. But I was really missing a lot of ‘my people’ and also just BIG theatre names in general...Kristin Chenoweth (first show in 4 years she wasn’t there), Idina Menzel, Bernadette Peters, Bebe Neuwirth, Nathan Lane, and a bunch of other people I’m probably forgetting were not in attendance as far as saw! So that was disappointing.
I LOVED the number from Company, with Neil, Katie Finneran, Martha Plimpton, Stephen Colbert, Jon Cryer, Patti Lupone, and Christina Hendricks! It was cool to see so many of my top people there!
The stuff with Brooke Shields was both terrible, but HILARIOUS! And it wasn’t bleeped either!
I also loved that I got to watch the Tonys live this morning, and before the West Coast of the US! That’s kinda crazy! But why it wasn’t at Radio City Music Hall I have no idea?! It was a little sad, like its being pushed out of fashion! Better go back there next year!
Overall great fun, I re-watched it last night with Ness, Kay and Nick. It’s even more fun with a group, especially THE group!!!

Hairspray Weekend
So I’m a little behind on my blogging. I’ll do last weekend first, and try and get this weekend’s activities up soon.
Last weekend (May 1st) was the big final performance of Hairspray in Melbourne. Saturday arvo I went over to Vanessa’s and we did our thing. We watched Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, watched the 30Rock 100th episode, watched more Bones, and started our new dinner show Rizzoli and Isles. That was Saturday night. Sunday we got up, walked the pooches, dressed smartly and headed into the city. We popped into the Ian Potter Arts gallery to see the VCE arts exhibition in which Ness’ brother Nick was featured. There were lots of cool stuff – like creepy costume, destroyed wedding dress and pretty photos. There was also some weird stuff that I just didn’t get – but that’s art for you. Not everything is for everyone. Nick’s work was very original especially compared to some of the other stuff. Creepy/Weird but in a cool Tim Burton way! I liked all the detail, but my golly he must use a ton of ink!
After that we headed up to the theatre district. We got lunch in this little café next to The Comedy Theatre. It looked nice, but they took forever with some of our orders, and I had to go ask about my milkshake and I wasn’t the only one reminding them about stuff. –So I definitely wouldn’t recommend it if you were in a hurry! I mean they took the orders on Post-its!
After that we headed up to The Princess Theatre. I went to join the line for the toilets while Ness waited to meet her friend outside. My friend Laura from high school was working there again, and I chatted to her for a while, while I waited to move through the line. We had seats right near the end, at the first door, so we had a ton of people climbing over us cause they were not early getting into the theatre, but the seats were pretty good once things got started. Even though we were only 1 seat from the end, you can see just about everything from there.
Now I love Hairspray more than the next person probably…but its not MY show. This one belongs to Ness. It is her obsession, and I accept that. It’s hard to be obsessed when you only see things for the 2nd time at the final show. The last show was a blast. Everyone was extra excited and cheering which was fun! It didn’t have quite the same ‘rock star’ vibe that the final Wicked had, but Wicked is a very different show altogether vibe-wise. Hairspray had a lot more kids in the audience…some who were very annoying and had annoying parents!
At intermission I ran into Laura again, and chatted to her about the shows I saw in NY and about what I’d been up to. It was really good talking to her. I don’t really see anyone from school anymore and always end up running into Laura at the theatre, but we never really have a chance to talk.
After the show, and the tons of cheers and applause we gave the cast, Ness and I raced straight out the doors and to the front of the line for the stage door – we planned our seats especially for that!
It was my first Hairspray stage door experience and my first since New York. I brought along the program and decided on having the cast sign the front cover, because it would have taken too long to find the pages – cause it was crazy busy…but I probably would have had time, but I know who they all are! Oh well. Everyone was really lovely and that made it really fun!
After it was all over…Ness went looking for her missing cardigan, and ended up having to go through the stage door to get it…which I thought was really cool! – She crossed through to the other side! Nobody does that!
We headed home…well back to Ness’ place, after picking up the puppies from her parent’s house. We ate some toast – having not had any dinner, and watched some more Bones to cheer us up.
It was a very full on weekend, but it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately there are no good future musical prospects! I have no interest in ‘Dr Zhivago’ or the Phantom of the Opera sequel ‘Love Never Dies’. I don’t know what the next big show to come to Melbourne will be, but hopefully it will be something awesome! –Maybe I should start saving in advance, always keep a little musical savings fund going!
I’m surprised Hairspray didn’t stay very long…it seems like a short run in Melbourne to me, same for Mary Poppins. But maybe I’ve lost perspective after Wicked was going for over a year in Melbourne!

But I guess really when it comes down to it, I just need a job – regular income. That would make musicals easier.

Funny isn't it?..
So I'm still going through old blog posts.....and found a funny little comment from a post in 2006.
(re: Cabaret) "I was a little weirded out at the fact that Joel Grey was in it...I had never seen him in anything that old. lol. To me his is Doc from Buffy or the nekkid dead man from Crossing Jordan."
-Its funny how few things I knew him from compared to now!!!! Joel Grey is not only the original Wizard of Oz from Wicked, but he was in Chicago, and Alias, Private Practice, and Grey's, and tons of other stuff.....its weird to only think of him as being from 1 thing! -And I'd also forgotten he was in Crossing Jordan.
They should so get Joel to do a tiny cameo on Glee......
Anyways that's enough tv talk.....but I just wanted to comment on how much my world has changed in 4 years!

2009 A Year in Review
So here is my summing up of the past year's hightlights, and lows.
January
Started the new year in style down at Anglesea with the gang. A fun trip!
Saw Wicked for the 3rd time, and our first time right up close.
Still working on my new diet/exercise plan…as change in diet and a proper routine of walking worked well.
Saw Billy Elliot the Musical – very entertaining, but did not have the repeat-ability quality of Wicked.
February
Not a lot to note, mostly working very little, and waiting for uni to start back again.
March
Back to uni, four days a week. 5 subjects including careers.
Saw Wicked for the 4th time.
Had my usual March blues (everybody has a birthday but me)
April
Melbourne saw a cold streak…a lot chillier than we were used to.
Not much else going on…uni and Easter
May
Spent most of the month whinging about not being able to see 9 to 5 and Guys and Dolls in New York
The rest of the time was spent finishing up uni work, and whinging about Wicked moving to Sydney
Ness and I went to see The Sound of Music Sing-A-Long at the Arts Centre….oh boy we kinda wished we hadn’t…and will forever be thinking we could have been watching a REALLY good WW episode instead :P
June
Finished my penultimate semester of Uni.
Saw Wicked for the 5th time, for Ness’ birthday.
Got my very own West Wing set…oh boy what did we start?!
This month saw the craziness that is Twitter enter my world…I blame Matthew Perry for that one (Kristin is totally off the hook :P), a brand new way to stalk/keep tabs on some of my favourite people
Achieved one of my goals – finding Piccadilly Jim, and Amber Frey: Witness for the prosecution….they were not GOOD movies…but that was never the point :P
July
Saw our first non-Wicked group musical for 2009, Jersey Boys. We just happened to walk past the cast signing autographs at the stage door on our way out, and had to get ours signed too.
Saw Avenue Q with the boys. A source of much amusement…and I would like to point out that I saw 2 musicals in one month….NEITHER of which were Wicked..aww.
Marked the 1 year anniversary of our Wicked obsession and our Kristin obsession.
My family got our very first Big/Flat/Widescreen TV….totally awesome. It took up the entire backseat, but it’s been so much fun to be able to see the movies without being squished into our old tiny screen.
August
Saw Wicked for the 6th and final time in Melbourne, at the very last show in Melb. It was awesome and the event of a lifetime!
Started my final semester of Uni….ever.
Started my Josh and Donna fanvid….took a lot longer to finish than I thought it would!
September
Saw Chicago, and got our programs signed by Sharon and Gina.
Somehow wound up watching The Emmys 3 times in the one week….but SO good. Yay Kristin!
Mum went to Europe, so I enjoyed having the car all to myself for 2 weeks.
October
October marked a year since our WW obsession started, for which we were never the same.
Went to see the Rob Guest Endowment concert.
Got my hair done –I always feel better as a blonde. lol
Went to Sydney with Ness and Brett….saw Wicked for the 7th (and quite possibly the best time) and meet with the cast at the stage door. One of the highlights, not just for the year…but EVER. It’s not often that I get a chance meet and chat with one of ‘my people’.
November
Finished up Uni classes and assignments for the last time. So exciting and scary at the same time!
Saw a heatwave in Melbourne….great weather for working on assignments…not
Partied it up (sorta) for my birthday.
December
Went to my cousin Kate and Ged’s engagement party. - one more family wedding to go to in a few years time.
Got my wisdom teeth out on the 11th, spent the next few days recovering.
Got my final uni results, 1 distinction, 2 credits, and a pass….not bad. Woot woot I can graduate now!!!!!!!!!!
Had a few trips out looking at Xmas lights.
Finished my WW vid. - it took a long time and a lot of work, but I think I achieved what I set out to.
Went to see The Nutcracker ballet, wasn’t too bad.
Usual Christmas day activities, including both my Grandparents coming to our house Christmas night – it was great for my Grandma to get out of the house.
Celebrated New Years watching SNL with Jacinta, enjoying the storm, and having the whole house to ourselves. Not a bad way to end the year.
Overall this year has been hard, cause I wasn’t working much at all. My savings as a result took a huge hit…but hopefully I’ll get a real job soon and will get back on track for the big trip in 2010. It’s about time!
This past year saw 4 new musicals in addition to Wicked. I think I cut back on movies as a result, but I did catch a few this year.
Yes Man
He’s Just Not That Into You
Role Models
Last Chance Harvey
The Invention of Lying
2012
Sherlock Holmes
…I thought there was more….I’ve only seen 7 movies all year?! That’s pathetic!
-Note to self…see more movies next year….wait, no…save the money for the US trip!
This past year I discovered/found new love for some TV shows. There is no longer a slow TV time anymore, there are too many shows starting at different times of the year, and with downloading there is always something to watch.
Here are some new shows I found this year (or near the end of last year).
-In Plain Sight
-30Rock
-Mad Men
-Nurse Jackie
-Better Off Ted
-Weeds
-The Good Wife
-Parks and Recreation
-Modern Family
-Cougar Town
-Glee
-SNL (to a certain degree I guess also)
Some I like more than others. Some I LOVE to death and have sparked new obsessions (not quite as bad as TWW, but close).
In conclusion, this past year has been quiet eventful, but perhaps not as eventful as the previous year. But I am officially dubbing 2009 the year of Musicals.
Lets see how 2010 plays out!

Sydney Trip Part 2
Day 2 Wednesday, D –day (Wicked day)
So welcome back to the Sydney saga. Let us continue our tale where we left off, the start of day 2.
After the lovely food, we walked around the Quay to the jet boat thing, which was our morning activity. We were made to put on these red poncho-type things which made me look like a 6 year old dressed as a Lobster. –I’m calling them Aqua-Snuggies, they had hoods and everything.
The jet boat goes really fast and then stops suddenly, and/or spins so you get thrown around and soaked with sea water. We were in the 2nd row of the boat, so we got constantly splashed with water (which was the idea anyways). I was soaked from at least the waist up, which was slightly uncomfortable the rest of the day. My hair was waterlogged…what made me think it was a good idea to wash my hair I will never know! :P
It was a lot of fun, however had bad results on some. We attempted to dry off the in sun, relaxing in the botanic gardens. It was somewhat successful. Once we had regained our land-legs, we headed back along Pitt Street stopping at various shops along the way, including a very cool book shop. We decided to get Frappechinos from Starbucks (which we got a size upgrade since we had Wicked tickets, from the one next to our hotel) and spent about an hour sitting in the park across from the stage door with our ipods and books.
Then it was time to go get ready for our evening, which involved showering in order to wash our hair and get all the salt that had covered our skin off.
After the show we RACED…like the wind….around to the stage door, where we waited…and waited… and waited. –Oddly enough we were practically the only people waiting…which while good for us, was somewhat sad. Finally Lucy came out and she was most lovely, and signed our programs (personally) and chatted to us for a while, or at least what felt like a while. –She seemed very open to our ‘Glinda should tap’ idea. Then she took a picture with me and Ness before she left.
The next day, our last day, we got up around 8am again, and went to the buffet breakfast at the hotel. They had really good French toast! We were in the process of packing up, when Virgin Blue called and asked if we willing to take either an earlier or later flight. –Which we were fine with. So we packed up all our stuff, got myself another Mocha Java Chip frappe from Starbucks, and said goodbye to the theatre and the Wicked district of Sydney, before catching the train back to the airport, doing a little shopping, got a snack and got onto the plane (we took the earlier one). Ness and I sat on one side of the aisle and Brett across from us on the other side. Ness and I spent the flight watching videos on her ipod…a most excellent way of passing the time. Before we knew it, we were back in Melbourne, picking up or luggage, back in Brett’s car and back at his place.
So welcome back to the Sydney saga. Let us continue our tale where we left off, the start of day 2.
We got up around 8am, a nice time, not too early, not too late. Pretty much headed off for our morning activity, after showering and washing our hair (stupid, stupid, stupid). It was really hot (for us) on Wednesday, especially in the sun.
We walked all the way down George Street to Circular Quay. We had a nice breakfast at a semi-Superman themed restaurant. –We didn’t even know that till we got inside!

Then it was time to go get ready for our evening, which involved showering in order to wash our hair and get all the salt that had covered our skin off.
Once we were all dressed up in our party frocks, ‘cept Brett who did not wear a frock….okay scary mental pictures now…. :P
….we headed next door to a Thai restaurant in the little arcade between our hotel and the theatre. The food was good and then Ness and I headed off to the theatre while Brett met up with his friend Shane. We browsed the merchandise for a while, avoided the stand where the same girl that manned the store in Melbourne was, in case she recognised us.....
We took Ness’ stuff back up before heading back down there to meet Brett and Shane. After bitching about the price increase, some of us got Ozmopolitans…which were NOT in green glasses like we had hoped…before heading in to find our seats. –A new experience, and perspectives for us, on the side, the good side - but it was weird to see everything from a new angle.
We got a new Elphaba (for us, not for the show), Zoe and she was amazing, totally blew us away. The show was awesome (as usual), some new things, some old stuff changed around. We also got to see the new Boq. He was good also.
-So there you have it. One of ‘Our People’ ticked off the list….sadly for us probably the only one we will get to meet, and also the easiest. –But I will never say never!
Ness and I were estatic and walking on air after that, and started heading off before remembering A) other people, and B) that Brett and Shane were not with us, and wanted to see other people. Zoe came out and we chatted to her and she signed our programs too. She was also very nice. Rob Mills came out and chatted a little while he signed our programs, and then took a picture with me and Ness. Bert came out which made Shane happy and he got his pic taken with him.
So then that was it, and we were high as a kite, giddy as schoolgirls, Ness and I. We couldn’t have stopped grinning like Cheshire cats if we had tried I wager. We took some group photos and said goodbye to Shane and headed back to our hotel room. There was no way we were sleeping for a while, so we sat around talking, and being hyper till about 2am.
A totally worth it trip, which we were NEVER forget....you know barring any head injuries, amnesia or alzheimers.....
Big thanks to Shane for taking pics of us talking with Lucy with his iphone! (we had no idea)
Thanks to Ness and Brett for the other pics :) (and of course Lucy and Rob)

The Sydney Trip - Part 1
I've been back since Thursday, and am finally getting to posting a little recap of my trip to Sydney last week with Vanessa and Brett aka the Three Muskateers.
Day 1 - Tuesday
Up at 4:45am....which wasn't that hard....I guess cause I actually had somewhere to go. I pretty much bounced out of bed straight away, and into my routine which involved a check list - because at 5am you NEED a check list! I had to be in the car and ready to leave the house around 20 past, it became 25 past I think, but it worked out. That was enough time to get the last of my things together, pack something to eat on the way, and get dressed.
Brett was driving to the airport, so we all met there. In the dark! - Its always weird being up in the dark...but kinda exciting at the same time, cause you know you're doing something special.
The drive to the airport wasn't bad, not too busy. We waited in the cold for the bus to come to take us to the terminal...at least the sun was up by that point!
We got some breaky/coffee at the airport, and got on our plane, spent the flight yakking about all kinds of things....arrived in Sydney. We were all still kinda out of it.
After collecting our luggage, we caught one of those spiffy double decker trains and got off a short stroll through a park to our hotel. On our way around the block to our hotel, we passed the stage door to the Capitol Theatre. -Which made that a VERY easy check to our list!! It was too easy! (and it was safe, with plenty of footpath around, so people were not right on the road, like in Melbourne.
Our hotel was practically next door to the theatre...which was MOST excellent!
We check into our hotel, and unpacked/relaxed/changed for a bit, before heading off to explore the area. We walked around the block, checking out the theatre. Then we headed up George street, browsing in shops as we went, and making it all the way to Martin place, and to the channel 7 store...which I guess luckily had nothing we NEEDED.
On our way back, we went to Pizza Hut for lunch...an actual restaurant with the all you can eat meal. -It was fun, like being little again. We had the choc mousse and choc chips, pizza, jelly, brownie and everything!
We walked back, and down towards Darling Harbour. Nothing too exciting.
We went and put our names in for the Wicked $30 ticket lottery, since we were there. We waited around with the other people, there wasn't too many. My name got called out pretty early on, and so I got the 2 tickets, but we needed someone else's name to get called out so we had 3 tickets. -Our rule was all go, or no go. Unfortunately there were not many cheap tickets, and neither of the other's names were called. So we debated what to do, and ultimately ended up offering our tickets to these girls who were hovering around after. They were from Germany and Finland and were SO happy to have the tickets, that it made US feel happy about giving them away. (They just paid me for what I paid for them) -And we got cool badges, which are special.
We sulked for a while, but eventually got over it.
We went up to the RSL for dinner. It was a nice place and the food was good. At one point 3 fire trucks pulled up outside and made for some entertainment, all these firemen got out - still no idea what happened....I saw no smoke and after a while they all left!
After that we pretty much went back to our hotel, and hung out in our room, before crashing. -We were all exhausted! -We did have to take some pics of the pretty green lights that they had put up all around the Wicked block. Very cool!
I'll leave day 2 (D-Day) till another time....its too much for now!

Musicals
Been busy lately, especially last weekend. Friday after uni and after doing some work on a presentation I had this Monday, I headed down to Ness’. We did a night of drinking, with Brett. We played a drinking game to RV. It’s a fun movie drink to actually. Then we did the obligatory WW episodes. –We might need to start branching out soon in terms of the eps we watch. –Maybe we should retire season 1 for next time….or not. :p
Saturday night, after getting home from Ness’ and spending the afternoon working on my presentation more, it was off into the city to see Chicago (the musical, not the band – in case you were confused) We were split 3 and 3, Me, Nick and Kay, and Ness, Brett and Vicky in the cars, those from the east, and those from the south. We had dinner at The Spaghetti Tree before the show. It was good food and nice to eat out together as a group. Then we went over to Her Majesty’s Theatre where it was playing. We got our mandatory programs, and headed to our seats. I was on the aisle, and Ness was next to me, and then Nick and so on. I liked our seats, we had pretty good vision. The show was a lot of fun. There were some parts I simply loved and others that were a little disappointing. But I didn’t let them ruin the good parts.
We couldn’t help compare it to the movie. In the end some I liked better on stage, some better in the movie. I really liked Gina’s voice, but I felt her big number should have had more movement in it….they didn’t always use the stage as much as they could have.
I loved Roxie. I thought she was excellent, very funny…even if she is scary tiny. My favourite part might have been the part in ‘Roxie’ where she takes the conductor’s baton and starts playing around with it.
After the show Ness and I went over to the stage door and got Gina Riley (Mama) and Sharon Millerchip (Roxie) to sign our programs. Gina was lovely and went to the effort to sign to us by name. Sharon did too; she was very nice and friendly and drew little pictures. We also enquired about the commotion that stoped the show in the first act…someone up on the balcony had some sort of medical attack or something. But the show went on after a little while.
After the show we went and found the rest of the gang…who had gone missing when we dashed off to the stage door. –We turned around to tell them we’d meet them later, but they were gone. We got drinks and/or dessert back at the Spaghetti Tree afterwards. I had hot chocolate with yummy marshmallows!
Then it was home again.
I’m a little sad now cause that means I’m out of musicals in Melbourne. I’ve seen everything proper that has been out in the last year really – ‘cept for Rocky Horror which I don’t think was really my thing. It started with Wicked back in July 08. The first proper, and by proper, I mean big production with biggish stars and in the big theatres, show I’d seen in years. Before Wicked, I had seen Phantom of the Opera not long before that, and then before that was Oliver…sometime back when I was in High School I think.
In the last year I’ve been musical crazy. I saw Wicked…a few times…I saw Billy Elliot, Jersey Boys, Avenue Q, and now Chicago. As far was as I know there is nothing coming for a while. There is a short run of Cats, which if I have the money I wouldn’t mind seeing maybe. I’m not sure about Mamma Mia. I’m not too fussed about it. And then there’s Mary Poppins coming out sometime which I’ll have to see, as long as they cast good people. I think that was my problem with some of the shows between Oliver and Phantom…the stories were good, but casts were annoying. Now I’ve become pretty familiar with some good Aussie theatre talent. I’ve even got people to follow now. –Story of my life: another person to pay attention to. I value talent and am loyal to those who I think have it. –They’re MY people.
….I’m absolutely hopeless. But so what?! It’s really too late now to start worrying about it.

Wicked
So its been a while since I’ve written anything. I guess I haven’t technically been busy with anything overly important. I’ve been working on doing other things that take up a lot more time and computer space, like my Josh and Donna fan-vid –which may or may not happen depending on whether I can solve the software issues I’ve been having. But that is an issue that can wait for now.
It’s been a rough few days for me. Sunday was the end of Wicked in Melbourne after 13 months, and going to the last performance made 6 times in 13 months for me (and Ness). Each performance was different from the rest in someway or another. The last show – I was both really looking forward to and dreading at the same time. But it did not disappoint. I didn’t cry, mostly because I was laughing too hard – at the messed up lines, and silly things they were doing, and also I was cheering and whooo-ing too much. Every time a character made their entrance the crowd went wild! And Lucy who never gets a cheer normally when she comes down in her bubble, broke character and it was really sweet.
I did get slightly teary in the 2nd half, but then the story always makes me get that way too.
We went to the stage door afterwards (after planning to the last few times we saw it), and it was packed with people. We made our way through the crowed and slowly got closer to the door. It’s a very dangerous spot…right on Flinders Lane and trucks and cars were coming down and getting very very close to people. A few times we thought about leaving cause it was SO crowded, we thought we’d never see anyone. But boy were we glad we didn’t, because in the end Bert walked straight by us, and Lucy was behind him. –I know its silly, or stupid or whatever, but I found it cool that Lucy was actually quite tiny…she wasn’t much taller than me I’d say. (The best Glinda’s are short :P)
I wasn’t quick enough to pull out my ticket to get Lucy to sign. –Something that is gonna bug me for a long time…its just one of those things…But by the time Amanda came by I was ready and got her to sign my ticket.
-This just means I’ll have to stalk Lucy in the future :P ….(see further down)
I couldn’t sleep for ages that night, and when I did, I had very disturberating dreams, just about things relating to the night. I also think part of not being able to sleep was that my ears were still ringing, and I was also emotional.
I’d waited so long for Wicked to get to Australia…after first hearing about it back in 2004 at the Tonys. Then after watching Bewitched, and seeing RENT promoted on The View. I was so excited when I heard it was starting in Melbourne. I bought the soundtrack a few weeks before I saw it. I sat down and listened to it all, the night it officially opened in Melbourne and new I would love it. Then a few weeks later, I saw it and knew (possibly by intermission) that I HAD to see it again. That 2nd time turned into a 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I’d collected a T-shirt, Hoodie, Mug, Drink bottle, Keyring, the Grimmerie, and 2 Ozmopolitan glasses.
I’d discovered the amazing talents of Lucy Durack and Amanda Harrison (and all the others), and will most likely see anything they do here. –They’re my people now, and are on my watch-list.
And like with most things lately…I can blame almost all of it on Kristin Chenoweth. Since July 2008, things haven’t (and never will be) the same.

Down to One
So....another semester of Uni is over, classes are done, essays have been written, and exams taken care of....(even if they didn't go overly well). Now, assuming I pass this semester, that leaves me with only 4 more classes next semester and I'm done. This is kinda scary, cause that means I have to start looking for jobs out in the real world, and put myself into some sort of direction of a specific field.
Now I'm on holidays, and working on finding some new work, either for a short term period till the end of the year and/or till I find a real job, or something that can develop into something bigger.
I've been free two days already, and I'm bored. I mean I'm loving re-watching The West Wing, and all its special features and what not, but I'm already feeling like I'm not doing anything productive. Hopefully something will turn up.
In other news, saw Wicked again on Friday. Weird show, there were a few people missing, and things were slightly off in some parts. However, I think Lucy doing the Sprinkler during Popular made up for all of it! HILARIOUS!
Also amusing was all the people that looked at our Ozmopolitans and the girls that borrowed them for a photo.....

Close to the End
So I have a total of 2 weeks left of this semester of uni...this semester which hopefully will be my 2nd last semester ever! I'm a little overwhelmed with all the stuff I have left to do this semester, though, most of which is due next week...some of which is due later. I am however feeling a little better prepared for my exam now. -The practice tests have helped, and I think I understand the theory/theorists pretty well now, which is good.
The whole job search isn't getting very far. I can't really afford to look at anything full time or long term, cause I still have that one semester of uni left. I am getting a few more shifts than I was, but still....50 bucks a week ain't gonna go far.
I'm also DYING to go to New York and see 9 to 5 on Broadway. I'd love to see Allison Janney on stage, but also the show just looks awesome, and the music is already stuck in my head...Wicked style. I don't quite have enough to go....even for a few days....maybe if I just hope enough something will happen. -But I'm not counting on anything.
Speaking of Wicked....I'm totally depressed that its finishing its run in Melbourne in August and moving to Sydney! -I guess I should be happy that its only moving, and not ending ending. Ness and I will have to make a trip to Sydney to see it once.
Also...I'm a little stressed with trying to figure out what kind of job I'm going to do next year once I've finished uni....its hard to find anything listed that doesn't need years and years of experiance. I'm sure I'll find something....I HAVE to find something.

Welcome to 2009
So far so good I suppose.
Had a great time away in Anglesea for new years. Was totally exhausted when I got home though!
Been pretty busy the last few days. I saw Billy Elliot on Thursday night with mum and Nikki. It was really good!
Then I was out Friday night with the weekly tv/movie night of Ness and I.
Then came the big night saturday, we went to see Wicked again...3rd time. We had seats right in the middle, 3rd row from the front. It was amazing to be SO close, we could see all the details and colors of the costumes, and see their expressions and we picked up on so many things! -although we did lose a little of the magic perhaps by being so close...and it was a lot for the eyes to keep track of....but it was totally worth it!!!! We also missed Amanda Harrison as Elphaba, but her replacement for the night, Patrice was fantastic..so I didn't feel too bad about it. We'll catch her next time. -I also think I would have been so distracted keeping track of Lucy's craziness, that I probably wouldn't have been able to watch Amanda as much.
Then last night I went to see Yes Man with Jacinta. It was pretty good. Quite funny!
However with all this social activity, I have totally killed my diet this past week. I'm now back on track, and hopefully will be able to stay on it....the diet mostly consists of just keeping track of what I'm eating, and cutting down over eating or snacking, and also attempting to eat a little healthier, or lighter.
I have faith that it'll keep working.

2008 a Year in Review
So with tomorrow being the last day of 2008, and me being away on holidays..and from the internet for a few days, I thought I'd write up my thoughts on the past year now.
This year has gone so fast! I swear the older I get the faster each year goes...and I'm only 23, so I'm a little scared about how its gonna seem in another 20 years or so....
January
- Didn't do a whole lot in January, as I recall I went to the movies a fair bit, and also to the beach.
Feb
-painted the dining room...took way too long and too much effort...but looks great
-back to Uni at the end of feb, started my 2nd year of Uni.
March
-On the Easter break, Mum, Nikki and I went up to Port Douglas for a few days. Had great weather, and a fantastic time. I never been up that north before, and the day out at the Reef was amazing.
April, May, June
-Spent the winter break from Uni working a bit, but mostly watching dvds.
July
-Saw Wicked for the first time, and was blown away. Hooked, absolutely hooked.
-I also watched the entire first season of Pushing Daisies
...so overal July was a very Kristin Chenoweth centered month, and one that changed my life by the introduction of 2 new obsessions.
August
-Started my 2nd semester classes for Uni, very social studies orientated in the 2nd half of the year. Which was a nice little break from all the full on media stuff of other semesters.
September
-a fairly quiet month, a weeks break from Uni.
October
-Stayed busy with new seasons of shows to download, The Emmy's to watch, and the beginning of watching The West Wing....Ness and I would never been the same.
-Saw Wicked for the 2nd time. Got the cool green drinks, and bought souveniers. I swear the show was even better the 2nd time.
November
-Classes ended in early November, so I was busy writing essays for the first 2 weeks. My exam on the 17th apparently went a whole lot better than I expected.
-My birthday happened...quietly, yet happily. I'm very glad I went to dinner with people I like, especially my Grandparents. Cause it was the last time I got to see my Grandma before the stroke that happened in December. I'll never forget the image of my 86 year old Grandma attempting to do the Nutbush on the dancefloor at the Bentleigh RSL.
December
-Started off good. Got my results for Uni. All credits - very happy, as I was sure I'd failed something.
-The whole family was thrown into chaos with my Grandma's stroke. A lot of not knowing, and upset. I has changed the whole dynamic of the family. She's working through rehab at the moment, but it was a tough Christmas without her here.
-Christmas was surprisingly good. I got some decent presents, and some not so great ones. The day itself worked out quite good. Although everyone was very late for dinner, which was frustrating, and rude....but at least it gave us a chance to be organised and relax before they arrived.
Looking forward to 2009....final year of Uni. Nothing else planned for the year...but I really want to start working on my US trip.

Saving Trees???
Okay so I haven't posted here in.....months. But truthfully there hasn't been too much to post about.
'Cept that I saw Wicked and LOVED it. I'm totally hooked and hope they do a movie soon with the originals.
Today after Uni, I was bored and decided to clean out my closet. I'd already cleaned out some old clothes from my draws and they were all over my floor, so I thought I'd keep going. Its amazing some of the stuff you wind up holding onto! I have clothes in there that I haven't worn for at least 2 years and will definately never wear again! Which is REALLY stupid since my closet is the size of a shoebox.
After clearing out my closet, I decided to put away some of my summer shoes I had in boxes on the floor of my room back into the closet where they belonged in the first place. Under them I found a few cardboard boxes that I'd filled with my stuff when I'd completely packed up my room last November when I got my new bed....or didn't....
In these boxes I found 2 (yes TWO!) folders filled with pages and pages of printed out Buffy quotes! Insane! So I immediately when outside and threw them in the recycling. Then I found a whole bunch of old Alias articles and Buffy articles and other misc tv articles. Most I will throw out but there's a couple I might hold on to. I'll see how it goes.
Some of the pages are so old that they have things about people from Baywatch on them! There's also a lot of old WB series stuff and Party of Five stuff, and ER stuff too. And even an article with Marla Sokolof.
It's insane that I'd kept this stuff. But I guess back in my teen years...or late teens it all seemed really important that I keep it. -Even though I haven't wanted to re-read it!
Anyhoo....
