So its finally happening. I am neglecting the blogging. I'm guessing a result of having too much tv to watch, and being at work all the time, and having no time to write stuff down.
I haven't done much this year. I had a good New Years Eve. Went to Kay and Nick's and played a weird ass card game. But it was fun.
New Years Day I went to see Les Miserable. Which was really good.
I officially started my permanent employment with City of Port Phillip on the 31st of December. It was cool having a paid day off straight away.
Then on the 15th of January I took 2 days off and Ness and I went up to Sydney to see Legally Blonde again. It was great, and we chatted to everyone after the show. I got photos with David and Rob. But the stage door was CRAZY. We had to line up way out down the street, but they were all really nice and talked to everyone anyways.
Lucy told us she wasn't going to be doing the matinee the next day, so we were really really bummed....but at least we were warned. We spent the evening missing our post chatting to Lucy buzz.
But Tegan who is her understudy was good, although nobody can replace Lucy!
It was a quick little trip, back by 9pm Wednesday and back to work on Thursday.
Haven't been up to much else. Went to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the musical at Her Majesty's theatre on the 7th after work with Mum. I loved it! I was disappointed Francine Cain (of Rock of Ages) wasn't in it more. I feel better knowing she's the understudy for Truly...but she's too short and too good to be hidden in the back in the ensemble.
Off to see Jersey Boys this Thursday. So excited to see that again.
Making plans to go to Hawaii in June. Just got to book things.

2012 - A Year In Review
So another year is over. Once again I feel like a accomplished nothing, but that's not really true. Plenty of notable things happened.
I was working at Monash City Council at the start of the year, and finished up in Rates in March. That was really hard to leave that group. I did get a new job working over in the other building doing animal registrations. That took me up to June.
I had three great weeks off, sleeping in, doing nothing. Then I got a new job at the City of Port Phillip in St Kilda. It was supposed to be a 6 week thing, turned into an ongoing thing and last week I got made permanent. So big change there. Its not the dream job, its not a forever job, but it will be good to do for a little while. Sick leave and holiday pay will be great.
October saw a trip to Sydney to see Legally Blonde the Musical with the gang. That was great fun. It was a blast to see Lucy Durack and Rob Mills on stage again and to meet them again at the stage door. It was just a quick weekend trip, but we got to see it twice.
The end of October saw a two week trip to the USA with Ness, Kay and Nick. We had a blast, doing things we hadn't done before in LA, lots of theatre and my very first snowfall in NYC, and then 3 days of Disneyland! It was way too short, but SO much fun!
November was another birthday, uneventful. Maybe next year I'll get organised.
It also saw 3 days of theatre, which was crazy. A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the forum Saturday night, Margaret Fulton the musical starring Amy Lehpalmer on the Sunday evening and then the Rob Guest Endowment on the Monday night!
December was a lot of fun. Put up the Christmas lights, had some good Christmas parties, and did many light trips.
Christmas day was okay, I would have liked to be able to do both families, but when they are at the same time in very different places it makes it hard.
Overall it was pretty quiet year, but I had a good time. Can't wait to start planning the next holiday and plan to have lots of fun next year!

Legally Blonde
OMG OMG you guys!
So last week I got to see 3 shows in 4 days and it was tons of fun. Wednesday I saw Promises Promises at the State Theatre at the Arts Centre....it was okay, but not much to write home about. Especially as Ness and I saw it 3 times on Broadway with Kristin Chenoweth, Sean Hayes, Katie Finneran and Tony Goldwyn. This one did not really compare. Marina Prior was okay, but it seemed weird. The guy that played Chuck was not great. He was doing okay, then forgot the words and messed up the last song a little bit....which I noticed, but perhaps people that hadn't seen the show didnt.
Then Friday it was off to Sydney for Legally Blonde weekend. After a little delay in actually getting to Sydney, Ness, Kay, Nick, Vicky and I headed off to the Lyric Theatre in Pyrmont to finally see Lucy Durack in Legally Blonde the musical. Our seats were fantastic, I think we were about 5th row, just off centre. The show started okay, then technical issues popped up and they even had to stop the show for about 10-15 minutes...it was hilarious...our very own disaster show! Then the show started up again with all the Delta Nu girls (skipping part of the song....) and to make things worse the poor little Chihuha dog played Bruiser wasn't cooperating and started running away, Renee Burleigh who plays Margot did a great job of catching him and improvising that part where she talks 'bruiser'.
Intermission they put down the fire curtain, again for technical dificulties....
Lucy was amazing as Elle...I knew she would be. But there were so many little things she did that I loved...but were very Glinda from Wicked...which I guess might have been more Lucy than Glinda in Wicked. Rob Mills (which did not help with the Wicked connection) was great as Warner. David Harris (who I only knew a little as playing Fiyero in Wicked post Rob Mills) was a great Emmett- adorable, funny and talented. Helen Dallimore who plays Paulette was fantastic...surprise surprise ANOTHER Wicked alumn, but she was Glinda in London. Also from Wicked...Zoe who played Elphaba when I saw Wicked in Sydney the first time.
After the show Ness, Vicky and I rushed to the stage door...and had it all to ourselves for a few minutes. We had prime positioning and got to meet everyone (I missed a few people but thats okay, I met the main ones, and there is always next time.). Everyone was really nice and happy to have a quick chat and sign our programs. Lucy came out almost last (which is why I missed Renee, she came out while I was talking to Lucy and zoomed past me. But still, I was talking to Lucy so I couldn't be happier. Lucy was very nice and happy to sign my program, and her CD for me. And then after signing a few other peoples programs took a photo with me.
Ness and I were pretty hyper after that...
Saturday Vicky and I had breakfast down at Harbourside, and then walked around a bit in the drizzle...before heading back to our hotel to change for another dose of Legally Blonde. Ness and I headed back over to the Lyric theatre at the Star Casino, and perused the merchandise stand - which in my opinion was lacking a little, I was disappointed in their selection...needed less kid stuff and better t-shirts!
After settling on a mug, magnet and dog bone tag/keyring, we bought OH MY Cosmopolitan cocktails...another plastic glass to add the collection.Then we headed in. We had seats on the end of the aisle further back and to the far right of where we were sitting the night before. So we had a different perspective which was good. -it included a view of David Harris in his underwear during Take It Like A Man.
Luckily this show went off without a hitch. No more technically difficulties. There were quite a few more kids in the audience of this show, but it was matinee. Overall a great show, a second viewing allowed us to take in more, and pick up on a few extra quirky bits.
After the show, we skipped the stage door - as we had pretty much conquered it the night before!
We headed back to the hotel for a debrief and a chance to change out of my dress.
For dinner all five of us headed to the Hard Rock Cafe, we got Long Island Ice teas while we waited for our table to be ready. -they pack a wallop I tell you!
We had a good table on the window, which had a great view of the harbour. The table was a bit squishy with all our drinks, meals and side dishes, but it was fine. I ordered a pomegranate martini with dinner - a classic fave of mine. We waited for the fireworks which were supposed to start at 8:30pm, but didn't end up starting till 9pm. -Ness and I shared a dessert to allow us to wait longer.
Sunday there was no time for sleeping in as we had to be up and out of the hotel by 10am. Vicky, Ness and I had breaky down at a cafe at harborside. Nick met up with us (he and Kay were staying till Monday) for a bit and then we had to head off to the airport. -for stupid international check in.
Once we checked in, we sat around a while in the food court....I was exhausted and not feeling great. After a bit of nibble on some food, we headed through customs and sat around in the shopping area, before finally boarding to go home. The plane was fine, and soon enough we were home again.
Melbourne was freezing, which was mean after a lovely morning in Sydney.
It was a great weekend, and I can't wait to see the show again...it better keep going and come to Melbourne so I can see it a million times more!

Almost Over
Getting one post in for December, before we head into 2012 next week.
I've been so busy the past month with work, Christmas shopping, Christmas movie/tv episode watching and then all the parties that come along with December.
We had a few morning teas at work for birthdays. Too much food as always, but they're lots of fun, its good to chat at work. Then we had our work Christmas party which was held after work at the Monash Civic Centre from 5pm. I went along with my boss and the girls. We had a few drinks and stood around while all the boring stuff went on, then the DJ and the karaoke started. Jess and I decided to do Karaoke together, we ended up singing Manic Monday -I thought we were pretty good. Then we did a lot of dancing. I wasn't drinking much cause I had to drive home, but I still had a blast. I was doing all the dances with actions such as the Macarena, Nutbush and Timewarp. There was a little more karaoke, till the party started wrapping up just after 10, and I left about 20 past, as did Jess and Deepa. I was pretty sore the next morning from all the dancing.
On the Saturday night I drove all the way over to the other side of the city, to visit Brett and Sarah's place for our group Christmas party. I wasn't going to, but I ended up taking citylink, cause it was easier. But I tell ya, its far far away out there in the west! I'm such an inner eastern and southern girl. But it was fun, everyone was there, and we did presents and Brett and Sarah put on good food, and there was good dessert. I must also add that Melbourne does look awfully pretty all lit up and spread out when you're coming back across the West Gate Bridge.
The Monday at work we had another morning tea for birthdays. Wednesday my department had our Christmas lunch at Pescare in Century City. It was fun and went for a few hours.
Friday we got coffee and cakes given to us...so that was a bonus too!
I spent Saturday shopping for food, and wrapping my presents. I watched the Carols by Candlelight. Which was lots of fun for me cause it had all my fave theatre people, like Amy Lehpalmer from Rock of Ages and Lucy Durack! Plus plenty of other good people.
Christmas Day, Dad and Scott came over for breakfast and pressies which was nice. Mum had to go pick up Grandma and take her to Neil's. Nicole and Scott went with Dad to Terry's. I was stuck taking all the food and drinks to Neil's. It was really hot, so I was packing stuff in cold bags with icepacks. I got there right on 1:30pm, and we ate pretty much straight away. I was stuff full of good food. Then I ate plenty of the choc ripple cake I made. Nikki and Scott turned up and we hung around till around 4pm. Then headed home. I took the food again, and Nikki.
Overall Christmas was okay, got a few nice pressies, including a new ipod to replace my old dying one. That night Mum and I watched a movie, and were glad we were not driving around in the crazy wet weather.
But it was really weird not having a full on day for the first time in my whole life. I miss the 2 big family things. I miss the cousins I never get to see anymore.
Boxing Day I wanted to go to the sales, but I only went to Camberwell. I bought a few dvds and cds. But nothing big. Mum bought herself a new laptop since their computer broke.
Tuesday I spent all day trying to put stuff on my ipod. I'm still only just getting through the soundtracks...which is only half my music collection.
Wednesday was back to work. So hard to get motivated this week. But I think we got a fair bit done.
SO glad to have another long weekend though, even if I don't get paid. But I think next week is going to tough...hah.
New Years Eve tomorrow, gonna have fun with my friends.
Bring on 2012. 2011 wasn't bad, it was hard to beat 2010 with my awesome USA trip, but I guess having a job for the 2nd half of the year might just top that....maybe a tie.
Lets hope for both in 2012!

Rob Guest Endowment Concert 2011
Last night the newly returned Ness and I went to see this years Rob Guest Endowment concert at Her Majesty's Theatre in the city. I did a quick after work dinner/change/drive into the city and met Ness before the show.
Funnily enough since I was hanging out with her on Sunday, I spent more time with her, than I did at home in last 2 days.
The new kids were awesome and and some of our theatre faves were there to give AWESOME performances. I'd really missed Lucy Durack!!!!!
I had 3 faves to win, but then the other girl Ashlea Pyke knocked Don't Rain on My Parade out of the park! I really liked the guy who won - Blake Bowden. He did two great songs. Overall there were SO many good songs. Oh and we had the best seats! 3rd row on the aisle just to the right - right in front of the podium. So we got to be right in front of ALL the action! They gave us goodie bags with water and malteasers too!
The live action was a lot of fun. I would have LOVED to have Lucy's Glinda wand from Wicked....but unfortunately I didn't have a spare $3000. Everyone got so excited when it got over 2 grand.... and these 2 just kept pushing it higher! It was a long night - didn't get home till 11:30pm. But it was totally worth it. Got to see some great performances by my theatre faves - Lucy Durack, Francine Cain, Esther Hannaford, Rob Mills, and the cast of Rock of Ages...sans a few of the guys. But I was glad Samantha Hagen got to do some belting, as did Lincoln Hall!
Its totally a tradition, I'll keep going every year now!

Sydney Trip Part 2
Day 2 Wednesday, D –day (Wicked day)
So welcome back to the Sydney saga. Let us continue our tale where we left off, the start of day 2.
After the lovely food, we walked around the Quay to the jet boat thing, which was our morning activity. We were made to put on these red poncho-type things which made me look like a 6 year old dressed as a Lobster. –I’m calling them Aqua-Snuggies, they had hoods and everything.
The jet boat goes really fast and then stops suddenly, and/or spins so you get thrown around and soaked with sea water. We were in the 2nd row of the boat, so we got constantly splashed with water (which was the idea anyways). I was soaked from at least the waist up, which was slightly uncomfortable the rest of the day. My hair was waterlogged…what made me think it was a good idea to wash my hair I will never know! :P
It was a lot of fun, however had bad results on some. We attempted to dry off the in sun, relaxing in the botanic gardens. It was somewhat successful. Once we had regained our land-legs, we headed back along Pitt Street stopping at various shops along the way, including a very cool book shop. We decided to get Frappechinos from Starbucks (which we got a size upgrade since we had Wicked tickets, from the one next to our hotel) and spent about an hour sitting in the park across from the stage door with our ipods and books.
Then it was time to go get ready for our evening, which involved showering in order to wash our hair and get all the salt that had covered our skin off.
After the show we RACED…like the wind….around to the stage door, where we waited…and waited… and waited. –Oddly enough we were practically the only people waiting…which while good for us, was somewhat sad. Finally Lucy came out and she was most lovely, and signed our programs (personally) and chatted to us for a while, or at least what felt like a while. –She seemed very open to our ‘Glinda should tap’ idea. Then she took a picture with me and Ness before she left.
The next day, our last day, we got up around 8am again, and went to the buffet breakfast at the hotel. They had really good French toast! We were in the process of packing up, when Virgin Blue called and asked if we willing to take either an earlier or later flight. –Which we were fine with. So we packed up all our stuff, got myself another Mocha Java Chip frappe from Starbucks, and said goodbye to the theatre and the Wicked district of Sydney, before catching the train back to the airport, doing a little shopping, got a snack and got onto the plane (we took the earlier one). Ness and I sat on one side of the aisle and Brett across from us on the other side. Ness and I spent the flight watching videos on her ipod…a most excellent way of passing the time. Before we knew it, we were back in Melbourne, picking up or luggage, back in Brett’s car and back at his place.
So welcome back to the Sydney saga. Let us continue our tale where we left off, the start of day 2.
We got up around 8am, a nice time, not too early, not too late. Pretty much headed off for our morning activity, after showering and washing our hair (stupid, stupid, stupid). It was really hot (for us) on Wednesday, especially in the sun.
We walked all the way down George Street to Circular Quay. We had a nice breakfast at a semi-Superman themed restaurant. –We didn’t even know that till we got inside!
It was a lot of fun, however had bad results on some. We attempted to dry off the in sun, relaxing in the botanic gardens. It was somewhat successful. Once we had regained our land-legs, we headed back along Pitt Street stopping at various shops along the way, including a very cool book shop. We decided to get Frappechinos from Starbucks (which we got a size upgrade since we had Wicked tickets, from the one next to our hotel) and spent about an hour sitting in the park across from the stage door with our ipods and books.
Then it was time to go get ready for our evening, which involved showering in order to wash our hair and get all the salt that had covered our skin off.
Once we were all dressed up in our party frocks, ‘cept Brett who did not wear a frock….okay scary mental pictures now…. :P
….we headed next door to a Thai restaurant in the little arcade between our hotel and the theatre. The food was good and then Ness and I headed off to the theatre while Brett met up with his friend Shane. We browsed the merchandise for a while, avoided the stand where the same girl that manned the store in Melbourne was, in case she recognised us.....
We took Ness’ stuff back up before heading back down there to meet Brett and Shane. After bitching about the price increase, some of us got Ozmopolitans…which were NOT in green glasses like we had hoped…before heading in to find our seats. –A new experience, and perspectives for us, on the side, the good side - but it was weird to see everything from a new angle.
We got a new Elphaba (for us, not for the show), Zoe and she was amazing, totally blew us away. The show was awesome (as usual), some new things, some old stuff changed around. We also got to see the new Boq. He was good also. 
After the show we RACED…like the wind….around to the stage door, where we waited…and waited… and waited. –Oddly enough we were practically the only people waiting…which while good for us, was somewhat sad. One of ‘Our People’ ticked off the list….sadly for us probably the only one we will get to meet, and also the easiest. –But I will never say never!
Ness and I were estatic and walking on air after that, and started heading off before remembering A) other people, and B) that Brett and Shane were not with us, and wanted to see other people. Zoe came out and we chatted to her and she signed our programs too. She was also very nice. Rob Mills came out and chatted a little while he signed our programs, and then took a picture with me and Ness. Bert came out which made Shane happy and he got his pic taken with him.
So then that was it, and we were high as a kite, giddy as schoolgirls, Ness and I. We couldn’t have stopped grinning like Cheshire cats if we had tried I wager. We took some group photos and said goodbye to Shane and headed back to our hotel room. There was no way we were sleeping for a while, so we sat around talking, and being hyper till about 2am.

Wicked
So its been a while since I’ve written anything. I guess I haven’t technically been busy with anything overly important. I’ve been working on doing other things that take up a lot more time and computer space, like my Josh and Donna fan-vid –which may or may not happen depending on whether I can solve the software issues I’ve been having. But that is an issue that can wait for now.
It’s been a rough few days for me. Sunday was the end of Wicked in Melbourne after 13 months, and going to the last performance made 6 times in 13 months for me (and Ness). Each performance was different from the rest in someway or another. The last show – I was both really looking forward to and dreading at the same time. But it did not disappoint. I didn’t cry, mostly because I was laughing too hard – at the messed up lines, and silly things they were doing, and also I was cheering and whooo-ing too much. Every time a character made their entrance the crowd went wild! And Lucy who never gets a cheer normally when she comes down in her bubble, broke character and it was really sweet.
I did get slightly teary in the 2nd half, but then the story always makes me get that way too.
We went to the stage door afterwards (after planning to the last few times we saw it), and it was packed with people. We made our way through the crowed and slowly got closer to the door. It’s a very dangerous spot…right on Flinders Lane and trucks and cars were coming down and getting very very close to people. A few times we thought about leaving cause it was SO crowded, we thought we’d never see anyone. But boy were we glad we didn’t, because in the end Bert walked straight by us, and Lucy was behind him. –I know its silly, or stupid or whatever, but I found it cool that Lucy was actually quite tiny…she wasn’t much taller than me I’d say. (The best Glinda’s are short :P)
I wasn’t quick enough to pull out my ticket to get Lucy to sign. –Something that is gonna bug me for a long time…its just one of those things…But by the time Amanda came by I was ready and got her to sign my ticket.
-This just means I’ll have to stalk Lucy in the future :P ….(see further down)
I couldn’t sleep for ages that night, and when I did, I had very disturberating dreams, just about things relating to the night. I also think part of not being able to sleep was that my ears were still ringing, and I was also emotional.
I’d waited so long for Wicked to get to Australia…after first hearing about it back in 2004 at the Tonys. Then after watching Bewitched, and seeing RENT promoted on The View. I was so excited when I heard it was starting in Melbourne. I bought the soundtrack a few weeks before I saw it. I sat down and listened to it all, the night it officially opened in Melbourne and new I would love it. Then a few weeks later, I saw it and knew (possibly by intermission) that I HAD to see it again. That 2nd time turned into a 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I’d collected a T-shirt, Hoodie, Mug, Drink bottle, Keyring, the Grimmerie, and 2 Ozmopolitan glasses.
I’d discovered the amazing talents of Lucy Durack and Amanda Harrison (and all the others), and will most likely see anything they do here. –They’re my people now, and are on my watch-list.
And like with most things lately…I can blame almost all of it on Kristin Chenoweth. Since July 2008, things haven’t (and never will be) the same.

Down to One
So....another semester of Uni is over, classes are done, essays have been written, and exams taken care of....(even if they didn't go overly well). Now, assuming I pass this semester, that leaves me with only 4 more classes next semester and I'm done. This is kinda scary, cause that means I have to start looking for jobs out in the real world, and put myself into some sort of direction of a specific field.
Now I'm on holidays, and working on finding some new work, either for a short term period till the end of the year and/or till I find a real job, or something that can develop into something bigger.
I've been free two days already, and I'm bored. I mean I'm loving re-watching The West Wing, and all its special features and what not, but I'm already feeling like I'm not doing anything productive. Hopefully something will turn up.
In other news, saw Wicked again on Friday. Weird show, there were a few people missing, and things were slightly off in some parts. However, I think Lucy doing the Sprinkler during Popular made up for all of it! HILARIOUS!
Also amusing was all the people that looked at our Ozmopolitans and the girls that borrowed them for a photo.....

Welcome to 2009
So far so good I suppose.
Had a great time away in Anglesea for new years. Was totally exhausted when I got home though!
Been pretty busy the last few days. I saw Billy Elliot on Thursday night with mum and Nikki. It was really good!
Then I was out Friday night with the weekly tv/movie night of Ness and I.
Then came the big night saturday, we went to see Wicked again...3rd time. We had seats right in the middle, 3rd row from the front. It was amazing to be SO close, we could see all the details and colors of the costumes, and see their expressions and we picked up on so many things! -although we did lose a little of the magic perhaps by being so close...and it was a lot for the eyes to keep track of....but it was totally worth it!!!! We also missed Amanda Harrison as Elphaba, but her replacement for the night, Patrice was fantastic..so I didn't feel too bad about it. We'll catch her next time. -I also think I would have been so distracted keeping track of Lucy's craziness, that I probably wouldn't have been able to watch Amanda as much.
Then last night I went to see Yes Man with Jacinta. It was pretty good. Quite funny!
However with all this social activity, I have totally killed my diet this past week. I'm now back on track, and hopefully will be able to stay on it....the diet mostly consists of just keeping track of what I'm eating, and cutting down over eating or snacking, and also attempting to eat a little healthier, or lighter.
I have faith that it'll keep working.
